What The Returning Officer Of Abia State Guber Election Said Before Finally Announcing The Results

The Returning Officer of Abia state Governorship Election and Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Professor Nnenna Nnannaya-Oti, few hours ago, has announced the final results of the gubernatorial election of the state which was suspended on Monday as a result of the controversy surrounding the results from Obingwa local government.

Before announcing the final governorship election results that declared Dr. Alex Otti of the Labour Party the winner, Prof. Nnanaya-Oti gave a short thought-provoking speech whose video is currently going viral on social media platforms.

“I have spent the better part of my adult life in pursuit of high ideals of good governance. I shall stand squarely, unapologetically on these principles. Therefore, the people’s voice and mandate shall stand! The pastor in me and the mother in me also, will not permit me to do anything that would adversely affect the future of our children. I shall do right by God and man!”
