Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has claimed that the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has defeated his opponents in the Saturday governorship poll.
Sanwo-Olu, who is seeking re-election for his second tenure, battled for the governorship seat against the candidates of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor.
In a tweet after the election on Saturday, Fani-Kayode claimed that the LP candidate and the PDP flagbearer have been defeated

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo failed to show up at his polling unit 22, Ward 11, Olusomi compound, Totoro, area of Abeokuta-North local government area of the state, Ogun State, during Saturday’s governorship and state House of Assembly elections.
This was the first time since 1999 that the two-time Nigerian leader will not vote in an election.
Obasanjo, who openly endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, during the February 25 election, is out of the country.
Sokoto PDP gov candidate Ubandoma wins polling unit

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto State, Mallam Sa’idu Ubandoma has won his polling unit.
Ubandoma had over 400 votes margin ahead of his rival, Ahmad Sokoto of the All Progressives Congress at his polling unit in Sabon-titi, Kofar Atiku area of the state metropolis.
According to the results sheet released on Saturday and signed by the Presiding Officer of the polling unit, Yusuf Hausawa, Ubandoma scored a total number of 427 votes to defeat Sokoto who garnered only four votes.
The total number of registered voters in the polling units stands at 876 while the number of accredited voters was 462 with total valid votes stand at 431.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged voters not to give in to vote buying, but rather pocket the money of politicians and vote their conscience.
He expressed confidence the All Progressives Congress will emerge victorious in the Governorship and State Assembly elections across the country.
The president said this in Daura, Katsina state after casting his vote at Ward A, Sarkin Yara Polling Unit, 003 alongside his family members and aides.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, the president said that he is not surprised at the results of the presidential elections on February 25, 2023, which saw Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerging as President-elect.
