PDP’s Kefaa Agbu Emerges Taraba Gov-Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Kefas Agbu the winner of the Taraba State governorship election.

Agbu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scored 257,926 votes to edge out the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Muhammad Yahaya, who polled 202,277. In third place, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Emmanuel Bwacha, garnered 142,502 ballots.

Kwara Gov Mourns As Dadakuada Legend, Jaigbade Aloa, Dies

Kwara State Dadakuada music maestro, Alhaji Jaigbade Alao, is dead.

Jaigbade passed away in the early hours of Monday at the age of 121.

One of his children, Alhaji Abdulrasaki Jaigbade, who confirmed his death to The PUNCH, said that he did not show any sign of sickness before his death on Monday.

Uba Sani Wins Kaduna Governorship Poll

Uba Sani, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Kaduna, has been declared the winner of the state’s gubernatorial election.

Sani scored 730,002 votes to defeat Isa Ashiru, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who polled 719,196 votes.

Lawal Bilbis, INEC state collation officer, announced the results of the election at the INEC headquarters in Kaduna at about 9:47 pm.

Expectations Of Nigerians Were Not Met- EU

Mr. Barry Andrew, the European Union (EU) Chief Election Observation Mission (EOM) Officer, said the expectations of Nigerians were not met during the 2023 elections.

Mr Andrew stated this at the second news conference on Monday.

He said the elections were marred by obstruction and organised violence.
