Reactions have followed a post made on social media by Chimaroke Nnamani, the former governor of Enugu State and senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, regarding Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election.

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, who has lost his bid to go back to the Senate to Kelvin Chukwu, a Labour Party candidate for the Enugu East senatorial district, accused Peter Obi of setting the Igbo political trajectory 24 years backward.

The outgoing senator made this revelation on his official Twitter handle.

As expected, his accusations against Obi elicited mixed reactions on Twitter.

A Twitter user identified as Barr. Fariq Abdulrazzarq said, “You’re blaming Peter Obi for your loss?  But you clearly supported Asiwaju against your own party. What does that say about you, sir? You see, in this life, you should always protect your house before anything else. I’m sad you lost your election, but you were the catalyst.”

Catfish said, “Chief I disagree with you on this one. I respect you a lot. And the least I expected from you is hate and petty name-calling.

“If anybody should fight anybody, it should not be you and Obi. Thank you so much for your understanding.”

Sab Amaechi said, “The emergence of Peter Obi in the corridors of campaigning in Nigeria retired some bad politicians. More will follow suit.”

Itz_Rainbow said, “Set the Igbo political trajectory 24 years backward how?

What have y’all achieved in the past 24 years that he set back? Is it an Igbo presidency that we have?

“You still want to continue being in power for God knows when. Ndi Igbo have woken up; we will retire the Ebeano dynasty forever.”
