Nikita Dragun may be one of the biggest stars on YouTube, but sometimes she needs a break. The beauty influencer, businesswoman and model has been on hiatus from the platform for over a year and released her latest makeup tutorial in June 2021. She revealed to E! the real reason for her absence! From the News DRIVE! digital series.

“Things were just starting to get a little crazy,” she told host Austin J. Mills exclusively. “I’ve been sharing every aspect of my life very unfiltered. But as the following and following and all that stuff start to grow, it seems like you’re getting more than just a few comments.” Over the years, she has become an expert at dealing with negative reactions. The star has amassed more than 3.55 million subscribers on YouTube, 9 million followers on Instagram and 14.5 million on TikTok by posting makeup tips and sharing her journey as a trans woman in the beauty industry.

What’s her secret to stopping the haters? “I’m going to say, ‘If I can survive high school, I really can,’” the 26-year-old shared. “Every name in the book has called me, and nothing really surprises me. But every now and then, I’ll have a clapping moment.”

Driving around in her Corvette Stingray, Austin asked the social media star the same question he asks on all his drives! Guest: “What do you think drives you to success?” Her answer was just iconic.

“I just want to be a badass bitch,” she said. “I just want to make every opportunity and everything that anyone tells me I can’t do come true. And I’m always very eager to achieve something and prove people wrong while also proving myself wrong.”

She certainly proved her childhood feud wrong, and in 2019 she launched her hit makeup line, Dragun Beauty. But Nikita has done one thing since becoming famous, which she calls the ultimate “power move.”

“I ended up hooking up with my school bully,” Nikita reveals, to which Austin replied, shocked, “that’s probably the biggest variable.”
