* Manchester United 1-0 Brentford

Manchester United faced Brentford in yesterday’s match in an attempt to secure back a top-four position. The Red Devils got off to a fantastic start, with Scott McTominay and Antony both coming close to scoring early in the game. Rashford then put the hosts ahead in the 27th minute, thanks to a fantastic assist from Marcel Sabitzer. Raahford attempted to extend the lead, but David Raya saved him in the last seconds of the first half. Manchester United United’s dominance continued in the second half, with chances for Sancho, Antony, Sabitzer, and Fred, but neither could convert. Brentford failed to threaten the United goal in the closing stages, as Ten Hag’s team effectively defended their one-goal lead and earned all three points.

* West Ham 1-5 Newcastle

Meanwhile, in the other match that took place yesterday, Newcastle United defeated West Ham 5-1 at the London Stadium. The visitors took control of the game from the opening, scoring two goals through Wilson and Joelinton. The Hammers gradually got into the game and looked to be in with a chance when Zouma cut the lead in half before halftime. However, the visitors regained control in the second half, and Wilson was able to open the floodgates with his second goal only minutes into the restart. Isak then increased Newcastle’s advantage with a brilliant lob, following a mistake from Fabianksi before Joelinton sealed the win with a thundering strike to make the score 5-1 at the end of the game.
