Femi Adesina Speaks On President Muhammadu Buhari Potential Handover To President-Elect Bola Tinubu

The Special Adviser on Media Publicity, Femi Adesina has spoken about the potential handover of President Muhammadu Buhari to the new President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Media Aide speaking in an interview with Channels Tv news revealed that the President has done what is quite needed of him as the sitting president ahead of the May 29th Inauguration of the new President. He pointed out that the full power has been delegated to the Transition committees who are expected to be in charge of the occasion at the eagle square on May 29th. He also clarified that the protocols are to be followed in an orderly manner before that day. According to him, nothing will be stopping the handover from the President to his successor. He noted that the constitution of the country is higher than every individual in the Nation.

He said, ”It’s not in the hand of President Muhammadu Buhari, it’s not in the hands of any exiting President. There are protocols for this things and the protocols will be followed. When Jonathan was leaving, the protocols were followed and President Buhari came in. The Protocol is that on May 29, you are at the Eagle Square and there are laid out programs which will follow and the President will hand over to his successor. How that program will be carried out is not subjected to the President, it is in the premises of the transition council which will largely be in charge of that programme. They are ceremonial which are subjected to not being tampered with.”
