It’s no longer news that Nigeria lost against Guinea-Bissau by a lone goal in Abuja. A first-half goal was enough for the away team to seal the win, while Super Eagles failed to find a way to crack Guinea-Bissau’s strong defense.

However, there have been talks about Jose Peseiro’s poor record as Super Eagles coach as the Portuguese manager has lost four consecutive games. On the other hand, many fans blamed the defeat on poor understanding among the players and poor tactical set-up. In his post-match interview, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro spoke about the poor officiating and also said his side could beat any team if they played as they did against Guinea-Bissau.

In the post-match interview from 0:00s to 0:45s of the video, Jose Peseiro said, “ First of all, Congratulations To Guinea-Bissau. Secondly, I Want To Say That We Missed Many Goals As We Deserved Much More. We Could Have Played For Another 1 Hour And Not Score A Goal. Sometimes, it Happens In Football. I Am Sad Like My Team. Any Team Can Lose One Match Because You Can Create Many Opportunities Like Us. For That, I Believe That If We Play Like We Did Today, We Can Beat Any Team.”

Speaking on the match officiating and Akpoguma’s injury scene from 0:46s to 1:24s of the video, Jose Peseiro said, “ Normally, he [Guinea Player] Should Have Received A Red Card But The Referee showed a yellow card. He also [The Referee] gave five minutes. Normally the referee must add 10 minutes [extra-time].”
