Boss Mustapha, the secretary to the government of the federation, “has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State since the PDP won the governorship and presidential elections in his voting district.”

According to PUNCH, “The party acknowledged that the SGF did not help its candidates for governor and president win.”

The Gwadabawa Ward chairman, who made the announcement of the suspension during a news conference in Yola, “claimed Mustapha was not dedicated to the APC’s success in the presidential election.”

“Adding that nobody could be above the party that provided them the platform, he said that the indefinite suspension was the result of complaints from his ward.”

The State Working Committee of the party, however, under the direction of interim Chairman Chief Samaila Tadawus, proclaimed the pronouncement to be “unconstitutional, null and invalid, and of no consequence, in a sharp turn to the news of the indefinite suspension imposed on the SGF.”

PUNCH reported that, “The local government executive committee of Yola North has been ordered to form a disciplinary committee that would conduct an immediate investigation and recommend any necessary sanctions,” according to a directive made public by the Adamawa State APC SWC.

In a press conference at the party secretariat on behalf of the SWC, the secretary of the party, Dr. Raymond Chidama, “expressed disapproval of the propensity of party members who were being supported by opposition elements within the party with malicious intent to attack elders of the party through actions that flagrantly disregard the party’s constitution.”

According to him, The state working committee has previously warned the ward executives to stop targeting party elders and disobeying constitutional provisions, he said, adding, “We hereby state clearly that such suspension is unconstitutional, null and void, and is of no effect.”

He added that, “appropriate sanctions would be applied following thorough investigations.”
