Crayfish have a rich, briny flavor and can be used as a versatile flavoring. It can be found in the fine cuisine of the world’s finest restaurants. A healthy diet that includes crayfish does come with some risks or dangers, as reported by Healthline.

The protein, fat, calories, carbs, vitamins, and minerals are all present. Because of its high selenium content, it may be useful as a cancer fighter in the body. Consumption of crayfish, however, is not without risks to human health.
In this article, I want to briefly discuss some of the dangers associated with eating crayfish in excess on a regular basis according to Healthline.
1. Improper storage can result in the rapid spoilage and contamination of crayfish. Maybe you can’t tell if it’s rotten or undercooked.
Eating it in that form can lead to health problems like nausea, vomiting, muscle spasms, as well as a high body temperature. Our local markets sometimes sell crayfish that aren’t fully cooked.
Quite a few of them are raw. Only crayfish that have been dried in the sun. They are poisonous if eaten raw and should never be consumed in that form. Wash it thoroughly and cook it thoroughly before eating.
2. It is possible for lead and mercury to accumulate to dangerous levels in water sources such as oceans and rivers. There is some evidence that these compounds are highly hazardous to human beings. Some of these substances have been absorbed by crayfish, which means that eating too many of them can disrupt bodily systems.
In particular, it is recommended that pregnant women limit their crayfish consumption because of the potential harm it can bring to their unborn child’s brain development.
3. Consuming crayfish can trigger an immune system reaction in some people. Negative reactions like these can be rather distressing. One of the proteins found in crayfish can cause severe allergic reactions in some people.
Because of their potential allergenic effects, they are often avoided. It may trigger an allergic reaction that constricts the airway, making it difficult to breathe.
Anyone with a seafood allergy needs to be cautious when preparing and eating crayfish. Staying away from crayfish is the best approach to protect yourself from these allergens.
